Best of 2011

Overall 2011 was kind of a crappy year and I'm somewhat happy to be starting over with a brand new year. I mean not to be negative or anything, but we had the coldest and snowiest winter on record, another stock market crash that felt like 2008 all over again, and an Occupy movement that has everyone arguing. The world job market is still sluggish and so many people are out of work. Budgets are tight, jobs are scarce. In our world, we lost a vital family member after a two year battle with Leukemia. Our family will never be the same again and people we love are hurting.

With all the negative things happening in the world and so close to home, it can be tough to stay positive and remember the good things that happened through the year. That's why I put together my own "Best Of 2011" lists, and I thought about some of my favorite parts of the year. It wasn't the greatest of years, but life still happened, and many good things definitely happened. My absolute favorite part of this year was seeing my daughter come to life, her little personality really starting to take shape. They say that kids develop the fastest between 18 months and 3 years, the sweet spot we were in with her in 2011. Wow what an amazing year she's had and I'm blessed to have been part of it.
